Jordyn Smith Bags Korean Bronze

Jordyn Smith and Cadet team

Not content with becoming European Champion last month, -33kg fighter Jordyn Smith has taken a bronze home on the first day of the Cadet World Championships in Muju.

With impressive wins over Australia and Mexico, the youngster was led to face Iran in her Semi-Final match, where she unfortunately lost out on the chance to go for gold.

It was a close call for team-mate Lauren McKinlay also of Central Taekwondo, as the -51kg cadet made it to her Quarter Final round before bowing out to a German opponent.

Despite this it’s been quite the start for Great Britain’s cadet squad and we hope today’s bronze will be the first of many as the competition progresses over the next few days.

Live updates from Korea will be available via the @GBTaekwondo Twitter page.
