About Chloe
Following in her sporting rolemodel’s footsteps, Roberts began competing in Taekwondo, after switching over from kickboxing with her club.
The teenager eventually applied for the Fighting Chance 13-18 Talent ID initiative and landed herself a place on the GB Development Squad.
2019 proved to be a big year for the youngster, not only did she win gold at the Junior European Championships but she also became a fulltime athlete and made the move to Manchester, in order to train at the GB Academy.

WHEN DID YOU START TAEKWONDO AND WHY:
I started Taekwondo when I was twelve-years-old because I did kickboxing for twelve years and trained with Dave Maddock (former GB athlete, Charlie Maddock’s Dad). His club underwent a transition when his daughter got selected for the team via Fighting Chance and I preferred it to kickboxing in the end.
OTHER SPORTS PLAYED:
Swimming, different types of dance, gymnastics and trampolining.
AMBITION:
I would like to become senior European Champion, senior World Champion and Olympic gold medalist.
IN YOUR OPINION, WHY SHOULD THE PUBLIC WATCH TAEKWONDO:
I think it’s an exciting sport to watch, there’s always different things going on and features some amazing fighters. For people interested in combat sports it can be a very good way of learning techniques.
ROLE MODEL/FAVOURITE OTHER SPORTSMAN OR WOMAN:
Charlie Maddock because I grew up watching her from the age of 3. She’s always inspired me.
IF SOMEONE GAVE YOU £1 MILLION, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH IT:
I would definitely take my family on a big holiday and try and pay them back for everything they have done for me.
SOMETHING YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT CHLOE ROBERTS:
I’m the first female to be born into the Roberts family in 100 years.
