In her 2008 quarter-final against home favourite Cheng Zhong, GB’s Sarah Stevenson scored a potentially decisive kick to the face in the final seconds, but the score was not counted and Zhong was given the win.
Soon afterwards, PA uncovered a clear photo of the kick and alerted GB taekwondo chiefs, who used it as a crucial element in overturning the result on appeal. Stevenson – and PA, sort of – went on to win bronze.
