GB Amaze in America

Back in the full swing of things, Great Britain’s Taekwondo squad have collected a total of four medals at the US Open in Las Vegas.

The first came in the form of teenager Bradly Sinden’s bronze, which the Doncaster fighter picked up by going head-to-head with GB teammate Christian McNeish in the -68kg semi-final.

London-born McNeish beat his compatriot 18-16 before going on to dominate the final where he took down Canadian Hevran Nkogho Mengue 13-11.

Elsewhere, heavyweight female, Jade Slavin competed for the first time this year and came second to newcomer, Shuwen Lv of China whilst youngster, Lauren Williams finished off the tournament with a gold medal win.

But that wasn’t all for the five-strong squad – Williams was impressively named, ‘Best Female Fighter’ and the duo took the title of ‘3rd Best Female Team’.
