Ideas explored on how to honour Flint’s Olympic heroine Jade Jones

DOUBLE Olympic champion Jade Jones will be given a hero’s welcome when she returns to Flint.

Ideas are being explored of how to pay tribute to the 23-year-old after she won her second gold medal in Rio.

MP David Hanson said he will discuss with community leaders in the area ways they can celebrate the historic occasion.

He said the ideas include looking at painting the ‘foot statue’ at Flint Train Station gold, an open top bus parade, a statue of Jade to be placed in the town, and the castle to be lit up gold for a one-off celebration.
