Olympic champion Jade Jones boosted the defence of her World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series title with victory over Chinese Taipei’s Huang Yun-wen in the final of the Samsun, Turkey leg.

The Briton, 22, reached the final of the -57kg category by beating Nikita Glasnovic of Sweden.

She then beat Huang 6-3 a month after winning silver in the opening leg of the Grand Prix series in Moscow.

Britain’s Rachelle Booth won bronze, losing to Huang in the semi-final.

“It always feels good to do well at the Grand Prix but it’s nice to finally win one in the series,” said Jones, who will next compete in Manchester, where she is based, at the city’s Regional Arena in the next round of the Grand Prix series from October 16-18.
