Liverpool Taekwondo Star Martin Stamper Needs No Extra Motivation Ahead Of World Grand Prix

Not that he needs it but Martin Stamper insists he has extra motivation to succeed in the World Grand Prix opener in Moscow with the Liverpool taekwondo ace having to leave his newborn son behind.

Already a father to five-year-old Ava, Stamper and his fiancé Amy welcomed son Jesse into the world two weeks ago.

But the 28-year-old doesn’t have much time to sit and spend time with his new arrival with the World Grand Prix about to spring into life.

The first event takes place in Moscow on August 14-16 with three further tournaments happening over five months, with the highlight for Stamper and co a Manchester leg from October 16-18.

And Stamper is determined to ensure that, if he can’t spend time with his new son, then he is at least putting it to good use by climbing the podium out in Russia.
