Olympic Taekwondo Champion Jade Jones Agonisingly Denied Gold In World Grand Prix Series Final In Moscow
Olympic taekwondo champion Jade Jones failed to gain some Russian revenge over Iranian Kimia Alizadeh Zenoorin as the Flintshire ace was agonisingly denied gold in sudden death in the final of the first event of the World Grand Prix series in Moscow.
In the World Championships in May, Jones had controversially lost 10-9 in the quarter-finals to her Iranian opponent after the electronic scoring system froze towards the end and not registered a points scoring kick for the Welsh woman. Without a video appeal, a distraught Jones had no time to respond and went out.
