Taekwondo: Sinden aims to follow in Stevenson’s footsteps

Brad Sinde

European champion Bradly Sinden is aiming to follow in the footsteps of Doncaster’s taekwondo trailblazer Sarah Stevenson.

Sinden recently won gold at the Junior European Championships in Latvia.

In doing so, the Stainforth teenager became the first junior male representing Great Britain to win a European title for eight years.

The 17-year-old will become a senior competitor next month and will start to amass qualification points for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo – where he hopes to emulate Stevenson’s success.

He is a former pupil of Stevenson’s coaching workshops.

“My ultimate goal is to become a full time Taekwondo athlete,” said Ash Hill Academy student Sinden.
