Talent Pathway Coach Nominated for Award at the 2015 UK Coaching Awards

GB Taekwondo’s Talent Pathway coach, Siva Ramasamy is in the running for the Performance Development Coach of the Year Award at the 2015 UK Coaching Awards, which will be held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on the 1st of December.

London-based, Siva has split his time between coaching GB’s National Cadet Squad and taking the role of head coach at Gurumu Taekwondo Club, which received quite the list of honours at this year’s National Championship, they came 1st place in the team award category and won a number of individual medals too – 36 to be precise!

There’s no doubt that Siva has played a vital role in the development of young athletes over the last 4 years and has seen the Sport England funded Pathway programme evolve a great deal. More recently, he contributed towards the success achieved at the 2015 Cadet World Championships where 2 medals were won.

Chief Executive officer of Sports Coach UK, Tony Byrne believes that Siva’s nomination is well deserved following his continued hard work and dedication, “The quality at this year’s finalists has again been fantastic and the expert judging panel struggled to narrow down the finalists from the 1000+ nominations that we received.”

He continued, “The evening gives us the chance to raise the profile of coaches and the role that they play in encouraging participation, performance and excellence.”
