Team Announced For W.T.F Cadet World Championships 2015
GB Taekwondo is delighted to announce the athletes that have been selected to represent Great Britain at the WTF Cadet World Championships in Korea, 22-26 August 2015.
Following on from the success of 2014’s inaugural WTF Cadet World Championships in Azerbaijan, this year’s event will be the 2nd Championships to take place and will be hosted in the sports’ birthplace.
8 athletes have been chosen in total, 4 males and females, ranging from a number of clubs located across the country including: Gurumu, TKD Academy Liverpool, Sasan Taekwondo Academy, Central, Fusion and Ultimate.
Speaking of his delight, young cadet Ismail Hussain from Gurumu of South London, said:
“I am overwhelmed with joy and looking forward to representing. I have worked really hard over the last two years trying to improve my game and now it feels that the hard work has really paid off and it’s all been worth it.
I would like to thank GB Taekwondo for giving me this amazing opportunity. Also, I can’t thank my coach and parents enough for their support, I will do my best in Korea to bring a medal home.”
Another cadet keen to represent Great Britain once again is Jordyn Smith, “I was overwhelmed and delighted when I knew I was going to Korea, this is somewhere I’ve always wanted to go since starting Taekwondo.
I’m really excited and can’t wait to go! I’m training very hard now and continuously pushing myself for this competition.”
The team will complete their preparations for the event through a series of intense training days before departing for late August.
Many congratulations to all selected athletes, their coaches and their clubs.
