Team Selected for 2017 Junior European Championships

An 18-strong squad has been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2017 Junior European Championships in Larnaca, Cyprus, which take place from 2nd-5th November.

The line-up consists of the Academy’s very own 2016 World Championship bronze medallist, Rebecca McGowan and 2016 Cadet European Champion, Owen Turner (of Ultimate Taekwondo). Not to mention, 2015 Cadet European Champion and 2015 Cadet World Championship bronze, Jordyn Smith (from Central Academy) as well as, 2015 Cadet World Championship bronze, Mason Yarrow (Ultimate Taekwondo).

GB Taekwondo’s Development Coach, Romaine Bailey is looking forward to what lies ahead, “I’m excited by the team selected for the Junior Euros.”

He continued: “We have a real blend of younger and older athletes within the squad but I know each of them is looking forward to the challenge, as well as the development opportunity that awaits them out in Cyprus later this year.”
