World Taekwondo: Jordan Gayle And Michael Harvey Crash Out Of Home Grand Prix In Manchester

Mancunians Jordan Gayle and Michael Harvey face an uncertain future after early exits from the WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix at Manchester’s Regional Arena, Sportcity.

Beijing Olympian Harvey slumped to a 12-1 defeat against Abolfazl Yaghoubijouybari of Iran while Gayle lost 16-2 against Mexican Saul Gutierrez.

“I can’t put my finger on what went wrong,” admitted 26-year-old Harvey, a World Championship silver medallist in 2011.

“I felt good coming into the fight and never expected to lose 12-1. I don’t expect to lose 12-1 to anyone in the world.
