‘Fighting Chance 13-18’ will make its return later this summer following cancellation last year during the most challenging of years for us all!  We are filled with anticipation as we look forwards to identifying and evolving a new group of exciting prospects towards their ambition of graduating from the ‘Development Programme’ to the full-time ‘World Class Performance Programme’.

For those of you that may have forgotten ‘Fighting Chance 13-18’ is the primary selection mechanism for young people to earn a place within our ‘Development Programme’ for a 12 month cycle.

We are seeking young people from all Martial Arts backgrounds including WT Taekwondo, ITF Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Karate, Tang Soo Do etc

Applicants must……

• Have a DOB between 1st Jan 2003 and 31st Dec 2008
• Be UK resident/British passport holder
• Have significant competitive sparring experience
• The ambition to pursue a future career as a full-time performance athlete

We are open for ‘Expressions of Interest’ through until Sunday 8^th August, we will then invite appropriate athletes to ‘Phase 1’ of a three phase selection process.

The three phases are….

1. ‘Phase 1 -Test Match’ athletes will be invited to attend on one of the following dates Tuesday 24^th/Wednesday 25^th/Thursday 26^th/Friday 27^th August.
2. ‘Phase 2 – Bootcamp’ weekend on 18th–19th September 2021 (for female fighters) and 25th–26th September 2021 (for male fighters)
3. ‘Phase 3 – Confirmation’ 8^th– 9^th October 2021 (for females) and 9^th – 10^th October 2021 (for males)

Please note that it is essential that athletes are available to attend all requested dates as there are no reserve dates or contingencies beyond the dates shared above and dates are also influenced by gender and weight category.

Finally we are conscious that the past year has been like no other and may impact athletes confidence to apply, we reassure them that everybody will be in a like position which has impacted training and competition, this will be reflected in our expectations and should in no way discourage them from pursuing this opportunity.
