Flint Castle lit up in gold to celebrate Jade Jones’ Olympic glory
Flint Castle was lit up in gold last night in honour of the town’s Olympic hero Jade Jones.
The golden finale capped off a memorable evening of celebrations in the Flintshire town which included a firework display at the castle.
Earlier the crowds had turned out to catch a glimpse of Jade as she appeared on the town hall balcony following a civic reception before being paraded in an open top bus.
Jade – who won her second gold at the Rio Olympics in the women’s Olympic medallist in -57kg taekwondo, already has the local leisure centre named after her and a postbox painted gold in her honour following her London 2012 win.
