A 17 strong squad of GB Taekwondo athletes and officials have returned safely from France (on Sunday) after being stranded during the Paris massacres.

GB Performance Director, Gary Hall, called the conduct and behaviour of everyone in the party “exemplary.”

Saturday’s event at the at the Halle Carpentier on Boulevard Massena was cancelled in the aftermath of the troubles.

“You just never expect something like this will happen,” said Hall. “And while we are delighted to all be home safety, it is very sad and concerning what has happened. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the city of Paris and with the families and friends of those who have lost their lives.”
