HISTORY MAKER TRUESDALE TAKES YET ANOTHER GOLD

Following on just three days from the IWAS Games, reigning Para Taekwondo World Champion, Amy Truesdale, has kept her crown for the fourth time at the Para Taekwondo European Championships in Bulgaria.

The medal was secured after the Chester-born fighter dominated the +58kg Final against her Turkish opponent on a 12-point medal gap.

Speaking on the victory she said: “I’m so proud to be the first para Taekwondo athlete to consecutively win and defend four European titles. We are smashing it as a team, together!”

Elsewhere, ex-kickboxer Leif Thobroe also gained a medal for the second time this week in the form of a silver. He found himself on the -61kg podium after coming second to a Russian fighter 0-12 during his Final match of the day.
