PATHWAY COACH SIVA RAMASAMY GRADUATES FROM SPORT COACH UK’S ASPIRE PROGRAMME

The Pathway is delighted to mark the occasion and celebrate the successful graduation of Siva Ramasamy, Cadet Pathway Coach who last week concluded the formal aspect of the Aspire Coach Development Programme.

Siva has followed an intensive 20 month Coach Development Programme within the highly acclaimed ‘Aspire’ programme run by Sport Coach UK and supported by Sport England.

During the 20 month programme Siva, along with 19 peers from across a range of sports, has undergone an intensive developmental programme designed to test, challenge and support emerging elite coaches to further excel within their sports.

The formal aspect of the programme has offered Siva the opportunity to generate friendships, sharing knowledge and experience with a host of coaches across the sporting landscape which will assist him to continue his learning journey and personal development as a coach beyond the programme duration.

Siva was nominated by GB Taekwondo in 2014 under the then Pathway Development Manager, Dean Leake.

During his journey he has formalised his coaching philosophy, been supported and challenged by his mentor Jo Hopkins, and finally presented his ‘Aspire Learning Journey’ to his coaching peers as well as guests from UK Sport, Sport Northern Ireland, Sport Scotland and Sport England, along with the mentors who worked with the 19 coaches.

This has been an incredible journey and one which has enriched Siva as well as the Pathway Programme.  Very many congratulations to Siva, his club as well as his family.
