Team Selected for 2016 Junior World Championships
A 15-strong squad has been chosen to represent Great Britain at this year’s Junior World Championships, which takes place in Burnaby, Canada from 16th-20th November.
The impressive line-up consists of reigning 2015 Cadet European Champion and Cadet World Championships Bronze medallist, Jordyn Smith of Central Taekwondo along with Junior European Bronze medallists, Cameron Booth of NTC and Leah Moorby of Team Ultimate, as well as, the Academy’s very own 2016 Senior European Champion and 2014 Junior World Champion, Lauren Williams.
Upon hearing the delightful news, Lauren said: “It’s exciting to be chosen again this year, I’ve been selected to compete at a much heavier weight this time around, so there will be bigger and tougher girls to face, but I’m still looking to forward to the challenge of retaining my title as Junior World Champion!”
“I’m looking forward to competing at another major event and I’m going out there with the aim of hopefully bringing back a gold. To potentially become Junior World Champion in 2 weight categories would be an awesome achievement for me.”
