Former Para Taekwondo World Champion, Amy Truesdale has secured a gold medal at the Asian Para Taekwondo Open in Amman, Jordan.

The Chester-born fighter landed herself first place on the podium after fighting off France’s Laura Schiel 28-24 in the +58kg Final.

Elsewhere, reigning World Champion Matt Bush reached the Quarter Final before narrowly going out to Asghar Aziziaghdam of Iran 12-14 whilst GB teammate, Joseph Lane also finished his day at the same stage of the tournament.

The youngster fought first ranked, Mahdi Pourrahnama (IRI) and bowed out 4-34.
