Aaliyah Powell has claimed Great Britain’s second gold medal at the Junior World Championships in Hammamet, Tunisia.

The youngster fought off tough competitors from the Philippines, Vietnam and Russia before going on to beat Thailand’s Kanrawee Sompan in the -46kg Final.

Powell’s victory comes after she helped Great Britain qualify one of two places at the upcoming Youth Olympic Games, just one week earlier at the Qualification Tournament which also took place in Tunisia.
