Cho Eases Through First Round

Heavyweight Mahama Cho has won his preliminary round 12-6 against London 2012 silver medallist, Anthony Obame of Gabon.

The two competitors took to the mats with a sense of caution and despite this Ivory Coast-born Cho managed to lead the first round 4-1 by scoring a spinning kick to the body.

Focused on staying at an advantage, Cho landed a number of 3 pointed head kicks to his opponent and thus secured himself a place in the +80kg Quarter Final.

The 27-year-old will now face Sajjad Mardani (IRI) at 8.15pm BST.
